General Info

Avon is a medium-sized city located in the state of Ohio. With a population of 22,017 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Avon is the 79th largest community in Ohio. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Avon, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Avon, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Avon’s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. Avon does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income is $80,485.

Avon real estate is some of the most expensive in Ohio, although Avon house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Avon is a decidedly white-collar city, with fully 89.56% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Avon is a city of professionals, sales and office workers and managers. In addition, Avon is home to many people who could be described as "urban sophisticates", which are people who are not only wealthy and employed in professional occupations, but highly educated to boot. Urban sophisticates have urbane tastes - whether they reside in a big or small city, a suburb, or a little town. Urban sophisticates support bookstores, quality clothing stores, enjoy luxury travel, and in big cities, they are truly the patrons of the arts, attending and supporting institutions such as opera, symphony, ballet, and theatre.

Avon is a good choice for families with children because of several factors. Many other families with children live here, making it a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families. The city’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic success. Many people own their own single-family homes, providing areas for children to play and stability in the community. Finally, Avon’s overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.
